Position Overview:
As a Lunch Coordinator at Yay, you will play a crucial role in delivering lunches to schools. You will represent the Yay brand and create a positive experience for the school community through your friendly and professional demeanor. The hours for this position typically range from 10-15 hrs/wk. You will work at our various locations in Chicago, near Ukrainian Village, Lincoln Square, Evanston and Chicago.
Pick up goods from the warehouse or vendor and follow the hotsheet (route) for delivery. Clean and sanitize work areas, such as sinks and storage areas, to maintain a clean and safe environment
Communicate effectively with school staff, local vendor partners and Yay team members to coordinate lunchtime operations and address any concerns or issues
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure meals are safe and properly handled
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while representing Yay as a Lunch Coordinator, promoting the company's values and mission.
Assisting with distribution of lunches (when applicable).
Utilizing various applications including our Yay branded hotsheets, Voxer, and Bamboo HR.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in customer service, food service, or related fields is preferred
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for meal deliveries
Listed as an insured party for used vehicle
Clean driving record
Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work well with school staff, students, and other team members.
Flexibility to work morning and afternoon hours, averaging between two to four hours per day, depending on the school's schedule
