Position Overview:
The Yay Cafe Lunch Coordinator position ensures well balanced meals are provided to schools daily through daily vendor partnerships and lite food prep. Team members will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging dining experience for students, faculty, and staff where Yay operates all day. The hours for this position range from 10-12 hours per week.
Pick up goods from the warehouse or vendor and follow the hotsheet (route) for delivery. Clean and sanitize work areas, such as sinks and storage areas, to maintain a clean and safe environment
Communicate effectively with school staff, local vendor partners and Yay team members to coordinate lunchtime operations and address any concerns or issues
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure meals are safe and properly handled
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while representing Yay as a Lunch Coordinator, promoting the company's values and mission.
Assisting with distribution of lunches (when applicable).
Utilizing various applications including our Yay branded hotsheets, Slack, and Bamboo HR.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in customer service, food service, hospitality or related fields is preferred.
Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people, including students, faculty, and staff
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work well with school staff, students, and other team members.
Flexibility to work morning and afternoon hours, as scheduling will depend on each individual school’s needs. Most positions will be part-time (10-12 hours per week)
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for meal deliveries
Listed as an insured party for your vehicle
Clean driving record
Ability to pass a background check

Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
ServSafe certification is preferred but not mandatory; can be obtained once employed
Flexibility in working hours, as the schedule may vary based on business needs.
